Vice-Chancellor and Chief Executive Officer Decides on whether a thematic academic review is required on the recommendation of: Deputy Vice-Chancellor or Deputy Vice-Chancellor Research and advice from the Director Governance and University Secretary and Executive Principal Education Futures. Executive Principal Education Futures Manages and reports on thematic academic reviews. Director, Education Quality Approves the plan for review. Professional Accreditation
Executive Team Committee Determines whether non-mandatory professional accreditation will be sought, and determines proposals to withdraw professional accreditation. Deputy Vice-Chancellor Approves all initial and renewal submissions for professional accreditation. Executive Dean of Faculty Seeks advice from Education Quality Directorate on the professional accreditation submission prior to seeking approval from the Deputy Vice-Chancellor and submits approved documents to the professional body. Responds to professional accreditation reports and approves implementation plans. Ensures compliance with accreditation requirements. Head of School Or Delegate. Manages the accreditation approval process and advises Education Quality Directorate the progress of accreditation approval. Ensures all publicly available statements regarding professional accreditation status of courses are accurate. Third Party Education Providers (Academic Quality Assurance – Approval of new proposals)
Council (or Committee) Receives reports on commercial activities and third-party arrangements. Academic Board Receives reports on third-party arrangements and reviews proposal for approval as part of the New Courses workflow. Curriculum Committee Reviews proposal for endorsement as part of the New Courses workflow or approves significant course amendments as required. Vice-Chancellor and Chief Executive Officer Approve the conferral of higher degree by research awards of the University (including aegrotat and posthumous awards). Permit a higher degree by research graduand to graduate in absentia and confer the award. Deputy Vice-Chancellor Research Approve the conferral of higher degree by research awards of the University (including aegrotat and posthumous awards). Permit a higher degree by research graduand to graduate in absentia and confer the award.

Academic Qualification (Issuance)
Council Testamur, issued to graduates by authority of Council under the University's Common Seal. Signature of Chancellor to appear on the Testamur unless replaced or pro tempore alternative. Vice-Chancellor and Chief Executive Officer Signature of Vice-Chancellor to appear on the Testamur unless replaced or pro tempore alternative. Executive Principal Student Journey Issue (and sign) the Australian Higher Education Graduation Statement (AHEGS) or replacements to graduates listing descriptions of UNE, award, AQF and units of study for whole of graduates candidature. Issue or reissue an Academic Record (Transcript) to Students and Graduates on request at any time during candidature or after Graduation.

Prizes and Scholarships (Determinations and Decisions)
Teaching and Learning Committee Approve terms and conditions of new prizes and amendments to existing prizes. Executive Principal Student Journey (or delegate) Receive and assess applications for scholarships and prizes. Executive Principal Brand Partnerships and Business Development Consider proposals for new scholarship and prizes (and promote to UNE Foundation as appropriate). Coursework Scholarship Committee Approve recipients of coursework scholarships. Head of School Approve (with School Teaching and Learning Committee) recipients of School/Discipline and Unit Prizes. School Teaching and Learning Committee Approve (with Head of School) recipients of School/Discipline and Unit Prizes. Head of Finance Oversight payment of prizes and scholarships to eligible student.

Academic Dress (Colours)
Vice-Chancellor and Chief Executive Officer Vice-Chancellor and Chief Executive Officer or delegate may approve new award colours (considering appropriateness of current groupings and size of proposed graduating cohorts). Academic Board New award colours will be considered and recommended by the Academic Board as part of the process for approval of new awards. Executive Dean of Faculty Make an application in a new Course proposal for a new award colour where proposed course is a new discipline area.
